Blue Lagoon

Ok this was a good coffee. Like really good, especially on filter. The blueberry notes are very strong when you taste it, but interestingly the smell is very strawberry like. Not to mention, there is a buttery aftertaste and feel that I really enjoyed that made me come back from more.

When brewed on espresso, the main note was the intense fruitiness still. Very delicious and definitely one of my favorite coffees in 2026 (though its just January so far).

From the Roaster

Blue Lagoon comes from the renowned Buku Abel washing station, a standout producer in the Hambela district of Ethiopia’s Guji Zone. Situated on a sun-drenched hill at altitudes reaching 2,100 meters, the station benefits from cool high-mountain winds and nutrient-dense red soil, providing the perfect environment for slow cherry maturation. This natural process lot, composed of local landrace varieties, showcases a remarkable fruity intensity characteristic of the region. The cup is vibrant and dessert-like, lead by a burst of fresh strawberry and blueberry, followed by a sweet, citrusy richness reminiscent of orange cake
